Style Change (スタイルチェンジ) is the main transformation system of Mega Man Battle Network 3. MegaMan will receive his first Style Change in Chapter 3, in a virus battle against a group of HeelNavis.
How to Obtain
During battle, depending on actions you perform, a number of points will go towards the different Styles. The Style that has the most accumulated points at the end of a battle, will add 1 Style point to go towards the next Style Change.
If you are currently in a Style, the Style points for that Style are forced to 0. However, if you selected to go to another Style and the point goes towards the current Style, 1 point will be added to all Styles instead.
During the next Style Change opportunity, MegaMan will transform into the Style that accumulated the most points. However, if the Style point count for every Style is equal, a Random Style Change will occur and MegaMan will transform into a random Style instead.
- Ground Style can only be reached in White version.
- Shadow Style can only be reached in Blue version.
The element MegaMan gets with the Style is random. It takes 100 non-story virus battles to receive a new Style Change. MegaMan cannot receive a Style type that is the same as the one he has currently equipped.
Changes from Battle Network 2
- You can only store 1 Style Change at a time instead of 2.
- Getting a new Style requires 100 battles instead of 280.
- A number of chip action requirements for the Styles now require using the chip instead of just sending it to MegaMan.
- Normal Style’s B Button PowerAttack is now a x10 multiplier instead of x5.
- Elemental B Button PowerAttacks have their attack power changed.
- All Styles have toned down initial abilities in order to develop the more sophisticated Navi Customizer abilities later.
- Guts Style does not initially start with Super Armor.
- Custom Style initially gives 1 more slot instead of 2.
- Team Style increases MegaChip count instead of Navi Chips and initially gives 1 more slot instead of 3.
- Shield Style does not initially start with Shield.
- Guts Style's buster Speed stat is no longer limited to 1.
- Aqua Styles will not slip on Ice panels.
- Styles cannot be traded. Navi Customizer Programs obtained from Styles can be traded, though.

Elements
There are 4 possible elements for a Style to have. The Style's element determines MegaMan's new B Button PowerAttack. The PowerAttack's attack power is not affected by MegaMan's buster stats, but rather by running WeaponLevel Navi Customizer Parts (up to Level 3). There are also 2 Mega Chips that MegaMan can use if he's a specific element.

Style Types
There are 6 different types for a Style to have. Each Style can run Navi Customizer Parts of 1 certain color without encountering errors.
After completing a certain amount of battles with a Style, it will level up. When a Style levels up, MegaMan will be rewarded with a Navi Customizer Part. At that moment, MegaMan can either keep leveling up the style or search for a new Style. If a Style is maxed out, MegaMan will automatically search for a new style.
