Locations of BattleChips in Mega Man Battle Network 1.
Terminology | Meaning |
---|---|
FMD | Fixed Mystery Data. These Mystery Datas have a fixed location and reward, they can only be picked up once and will not spawn again. |
FMD (respawn) | In some Comps, Fixed Mystery Datas can only be picked up if you no longer have that chip in your inventory. They will also respawn every time you jack in. |
FMD (missable) | Some Fixed Mystery Datas that appear in dungeons are missable. If they are not picked up, they will disappear in the next game chapter. |
RMD | Random Mystery Data. These Mystery Datas will always spawn when you jack in and have a random reward.

Chip Traders
Both Chip Exchangers (AKA Chip Trader in later games) can give any chip registered in the library (even if you do not have the code in the pack). They are both available at Higsby's.
- In this game, using the Chip Trader does not automatically save the game upon use. So the next chip you get can be re-randomized with resetting.
- Chip Exchanger (3 chips) can also give new chips from a fixed pool.
- Super Exchanger (10 chips) can give every single chip in every single code, but will not give the following chips unless they have been registered in the library:
- LifeAura, MagicMan, MagicMn2, MagicMn3, PharoMan, PharoMn2, PharoMn3, ShadoMan, ShadoMn2, ShadoMn3, Bass
The chip locations below will only mention the codes of the chips that can be obtained while unregistered from the regular Chip Exchanger, if any.
