Busting Level is the main method of determining the reward you obtain upon successful deletion of the enemy. Higher level equals better rewards, so players will want to shoot for the highest ranking possible, unless they seek specific rewards from a lower level. These rewards can be changed in games with the Navi Customizer to bypass busting level drop requirements. Scoring over 10 points is considered as Busting Lv. S.

As with previous games, busting level is the main method of determining the reward the Navi in battle obtains upon successful deletion of the enemy. This is ranked from S (being the highest) all the way down to 1. Higher level equals better rewards, so the player will want to shoot for the highest ranking possible, unless seeking specific rewards from a lower level. These rewards can be changed in games with the Navi Customizer to bypass busting level drop requirements.

=== Battle Busting Level (BN1 - BN5) ===

The time it takes for you to delete the enemy grants you a busting level. This differs between Virus Battles and Navi Battles. Faster deletion time gives a higher busting level. In Battle Network 4 and 5, defeating a Navi in 30 seconds or less will increase the power of its SP chip. DS chips are not affected by deletion time.

=== Affecting Busting Level ===
'''Flinching''' Every time your Navi is hit and taken aback, points are deducted. Having the "Super Armor" Program will prevent point deduction.

Doing well in battle adds to you higher busting level. This is judged based on multiple criteria, from to multiple deletion or times the player was hit while not having Super Armor. Moving too much is counted as a penalty.

In Battle Network 3, in addition to the previous scoring methods, being in Custom Style or Team Style will affect your reward.
'''Custom Style''': Scoring a Busting LV. If you do this without re-opening the Custom Screen, another different reward can be obtained.

Some games have slight changes to the busting level criteria, which will be listed here. Counters introduced in Battle Network 3 did not affect ranking until BN6. Crosses also play a factor in your level, which adds +1 to your rank if you do not use a cross.
==Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation==
This is how your Busting LV. is determined only in EXE 4.5. In this game, movement does not affect your score. However, number of counter hits to the enemy now affect your score.

Rockman EXE 4.5 has an altered set of criteria for increasing or decreasing buster level. Previously it was simply related to multiple deletion or times the player was hit while not having Super Armor. However with control taken from the player, movement no longer brings a penalty and counters now increase level.
