Busting Level

As with previous games, busting level is the main method of determining the reward the Navi in battle obtains upon successful deletion of the enemy. This is ranked from S (being the highest) all the way down to 1. Higher level equals better rewards, so the player will want to shoot for the highest ranking possible, unless seeking specific rewards from a lower level. These rewards can be changed in games with the Navi Customizer to bypass busting level drop requirements.

Battle Busting Level (BN1 - BN5)

The time it takes for you to delete the enemy grants you a busting level. This differs between Virus Battles and Navi Battles. Faster deletion time gives a higher busting level. In Battle Network 4 and 5, defeating a Navi in 30 seconds or less will increase the power of it's SP chip. DS chips are not affected by deletion time.

Virus Delete time: Busting Level
0:00:00 ~ 0:05:00 7
0:05:01 ~ 0:12:00 6
0:12:01 ~ 0:36:01 5

Game Specific Mechanics to Affecting Buster Level

Some games have slight changes to the busting level criteria, which will be listed here. Counters introduced in Battle Network 3 did not affect ranking until BN6. Crosses also play a factor in your level, which is exclusive to the game.

Rockman EXE 4.5 has an altered set of criteria for increasing or decreasing buster level. Previously it was simply related to multiple deletion or times the player was hit while not having Super Armor. However with control taken from the player, movement no longer brings a penalty and counters now increase level.
