In Rockman EXE 4.5: Real Operation, you do not take the role of Lan. You are yourself, operating different Navis in a unique world separate from the traditional EXE games. Every Navi has their own pros and cons in battle along their own unique personality as they interact with you.
Unlike in Battle Network 4, there is no Navi Customizer to increase your Navi's Stats. Navis cannot find HP Memories like in normal Battle Network games, instead they must involve in all sorts of different tasks and minigames. The Navis have an HP cap and if the Navi cannot gain anymore HP, the task and minigames will give Zennys or BugFrags instead.
Only the Navi's Buster Attack Power can be increased, there is no way to increase its Speed or Charge.
- The Attack stats can be increased from "Buster Up" Gold Mystery Datas on the Net while using that Navi. This will affect their PowerAttacks' damage as well. Each Navi having their own maximum Attack.
- In this game, FloatShoes will ignore Cracked, Ice, Lava, Pitfall panels. However, Poison Panels will still affect them.
There are also barriers in the overworld that hide goodies behind the obstacle. Specific Navis can remove these barriers: (List of Locations)
Obstacle | Navis that can remove it |
---|---|
Boulder | GutsMan, MetalMan, KnightMan |
Fire Wall | FireMan, NapalmMan, IceMan, AquaMan |
Electric Current | ThunderMan, ElecMan |
Wood Stumps | FireMan, NapalmMan, WoodMan, PlantMan |
Whirlwind | WindMan, Bass |
? Security Gate | NumberMan, ProtoMan, ShadowMan |
These are Navis that do not need the Battle Chip Gate to unlock in-game. MegaMan, Roll, GutsMan and NumberMan are unlocked from the start. You can unlock the other Navis by completing the Official Tournament, they are unlocked either one or two at a time in an alternating fashion.
- 1 trophy unlocks FireMan & WoodMan.
- 2 trophies unlocks WindMan.
- 3 trophies unlocks SearchMan & AquaMan.
- 4 trophies unlocks ThunderMan.
- 5 trophies unlocks MetalMan & JunkMan.
- 6 trophies unlocks ProtoMan.
Completing the Official Tournament with all 13 Navis is required to play the game’s credits.
- Every Navi can also be unlocked by slotting in their Navi Data Chip (not their Navi Mega Chip) in the Battle Chip Gate. You can unlock the first 2 row of Navis by progressing through the game. The bottom-most row, however, require their Navi Data Chip slot in the Gate.
- Most Navis have a Buster that increases the Custom Gauge upon usage. Some also have Shield, which will consume the Custom Gauge upon use.
