This is the Boktai Crossover with Mega Man Battle Network 6 and Boktai 3[1]: Sabata's Counterattack[2] (AKA Shin Bokura no Taiyoh: Gyakushuu no Sabata).
For the GBA version, a majority of the crossover is removed in North American and European game. However, a few of the content still remain. The crossover content has been restored for the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. For the sake of recognizability, as much localized English terms and locations from both games will be used.

Bat Key
Japanese version and Legacy Collection only. There is a side quest that involves Django, Otenko, and the Count. To start it, Bass must be beaten first.
Crossover Battle 2
Crossover Battle 2 is a special game mode where MMBN6 and Boktai 3 can battle each other using the Wireless Adapter (cannot use the Link Cable). This mode does not use the save data from either games, instead, all the equipment will be pre-determined. To enter this mode:
- MMBN6 side: Make sure the Wireless Adapter is attached before the Capcom intro screen. At the Title Screen, a new Crossover Battle 2 option will appear.
- Boktai 3 side: In the Link menu, cursor on Bike Battle, enter L L L L L R R R R R L R L R Select Start. A new Crossover Battle 2 menu will appear.
Changes from Battle Network 5
- Disturb icons will activate immediately in real time, instead of only receiving at the start of a turn. As such, Block now stops Disturbs for an entire turn.
- Django's Disturb icons are now tied to a Special Action tab that can be applied to any weapon, instead of a specific enchanted weapon.
Mechanics
Both MegaMan (500 HP) and Django will battle the Count (800 HP). The winner is the one who beats Count first, or if the opponent is knocked out by Count. After the battle, the players will receive Crossover Points depending on how well they did.
This mode has some special battle mechanics:
- Disturb Icon: These icons will send distractions to the opposite player and assist the Count. The icon color decide the effect it gives. Sending multiple icons is possible, even those of the same color, which then will stack up.
- Block: Selecting Block will prevent all Disturb Icons you receive this turn, and in the next turn, they will be returned back to the opponent.
- BeastOut: BeastOut is a BattleChip in the Folder. MegaMan can use the chip to go into his Beast Out form. It will only last 1 turn.
- Emotion Window: MegaMan cannot enter Angry emotion.
These are the Disturb icons MegaMan can send to Django.
Attack | Disturb Icon | Effect |
---|---|---|
BatCan1 | Yellow | MegaMan appears and shoots with his MegaBuster multiple times. Causes flinch. |
BatCan2 | Blue | MegaMan appears and shoots ZapRing. Causes unconscious[3]. |
BatCan3 | Green | MegaMan appears and uses LifeSword. Causes knock down. |
BatCan4 | Yellow, Blue, Green | Shoots 3 times. Gives a Disturb icon with each shot. |
Counter Hit | Red | Makes Count use an un-dodgeable Blood Rain. |
These are the Disturb icons Django can send to MegaMan.
Attack | Disturb Icon | Effect |
---|---|---|
Special Action | Yellow | Django appears in front of MegaMan and slashes with his sword. 40 damage and paralyzes. |
Special Action | Blue | Django appears in front of MegaMan and use GunDelSol. Drains 30 HP and paralyzes on first hit. |
Special Action | Green | Django rides down the row, panels will be Cracked when he travels. 60 damage and guard-pierce. |
Trance attack | Yelllow, Blue, Green | Each hit Trance form Django lands will send a Disturb Icon, in a set order. |
Back attack | Red | Makes Count use 3x3 BloodRain. 5 damage x10, 50 damage in total. |

To exchange points, you need to have the PET (in Home, after clearing the story once). Then examine the Rockman Doll in Home. Trading in points has a chance to give exclusive accessories.
- Equipping all Battle Network accessories will turn Django into MegaMan colors. In Bike battles, Django's sprite will be swapped with MegaMan.
Item | Effect |
---|---|
Colonel Helm | Turns Django's outfit into Colonel colors. Defends against Poison, Confuse, and Paralysis from enemy attacks. |
Bass Mantle | Turns Django's outfit into Bass colors. Halves damage taken. |
Tomahawk Arm | Turns Django's outfit into TomahawkMan colors. Increases damage when using a sword. |
ProtoMan Leg | Turns Django's outfit into ProtoMan colors. Can dash even when the Solar Gauge is at zero. |
MegaMan in Boktai 3
There are a few MegaMan-related unlockables in Boktai 3.
Item | Location | Effect |
---|---|---|
MegaMan Doll | Ancient Tree | When examined, fills Django’s ENE gauge to full. |
Colonel Doll | Pirate Island (invisible chest) | When examined, fills Django’s TRC gauge to full. |
ProtoMan Doll | Dark Castle (invisible chest) | When displayed, makes it easier to get GREATs and SP effects at the Solar Smith. |
Mega Blue Bike Color | Obtain S-Rank on all courses in the Garage | Turns the bike’s color into MegaMan blue. |
Trivia
- Immortal Area is shaped like Boktai's Earth property symbol, which is the Count's property (Boktai's version of elements).
- The Shinbok Trader name is from “Shin Bokura No Taiyoh”, AKA “Boktai 3”.
