==Real Battle Reward==
===Hit Damage Judge===
If you're NetBattling in Real mode, the loser gives up one of their chips to the winner. The chip is determined as follows.
This feature prevents battles from going into an indefinite length. It's been lengthen from last game's 10 turns to 15 turns.

First the game will make a list of all the chips that the loser has at least 1 of in the Pack, disregarding the codes. It will then check the Busting Level that the winner go and decide a chip rarity to award:
In the 15th turn of battle, a counter will appear. When it hits zero, the game will count how much damage is dealt to the other player. The player who dealt the most damage wins the battle. It will only count how much damage is dealt from attacks and not HP drain from Swamp panels or chips like Anubis.

==Special Reward==
===Game Boy Advance===
If players are battling on Midweight, Heavyweight or Tri-Battle level and playing in Real mode, there is a 1-in-32 chance that the winner receives a special reward chip. This only happens if the winner has not yet received Balance/DeltaRay. When this happens, the loser does not lose one of their own chips.
When choosing the reward chip, the game will make a list of every Standard Chip that neither player has yet. However, all the Virus Breeder chips are excluded from this list, so they cannot be obtained this way.
If this list of potential chips is empty, then the winner will receive Balance or DeltaRay depending on their game version. In other words, if both players' Libraries combined result in a completed Standard Library (Virus Breeder chips not counted). Otherwise, the game selects a chip rarity based on the winner's Busting Level:

In this game, there is a Giga Chip that is only obtainable by NetBattling with another player. Balance Y for White Version and DeltaRay Z for Blue Version.
If players are battling in Real mode, and both players having a complete Standard Chip Library (excluding Virus Breeder chips), then there is a 1-in-32 chance that the winner receives the Balance or DeltaRay Giga Chip depending on their game version. This will only occur if you're NetBattling on Midweight, Heavyweight or Tri-Battle level, playing in Real mode, and if the combined Library of both players result in a complete Standard Chip Library. When the Results screen pops up, there is a 1-in-32 chance to get a special reward chip. and if the winning player has not yet received Balance/DeltaRay. When this happens, the losing player does not lose one of their own chips.

How this works is when the game is choosing the reward chip, it will make a list of every Standard chip that neither you nor the other player has yet. However, all the Virus Breeder chips are excluded from this list, so you can't get them this way. If this list of potential chips is empty, then the winning player will receive Balance or DeltaRay depending on their version. For instance, this is the case when the combined libraries of both players is complete. Otherwise, the game selects a chip rarity based on your Busting Level.
It is no longer possible to obtain a random new Standard Chip as a special reward.

Hit Damage Judge

This feature prevents battles from going into an indefinite length. It's been lengthen from last game's 10 turns to 15 turns.

In the 15th turn of battle, a counter will appear. When it hits zero, the game will count how much damage is dealt to the other player. The player who dealt the most damage wins the battle. It will only count how much damage is dealt from attacks and not HP drain from Swamp panels or chips like Anubis.

Special Reward

Game Boy Advance

Busting Level Chip Rarity Chance
Lv. 1 ★: 100%
Lv. 2 ★: 100%
Lv. 3 ★: 100%
Lv. 4 ★: 50%
★★: 50%
Lv. 5 ★★: 50%
★★★: 50%
Lv. 6 ★★★: 100%
Lv. 7 ★★★: 50%
★★★★: 50%
Lv. 8 ★★★★: 100%
Lv. 9 ★★★★: 100%
Lv. 10 ★★★★: 100%
Lv. S ★★★★: 100%

Next, the game will check if there are any chips in the list of potential chips that match the selected rarity. If there are no chips found, then the game will decrease rarity by 1 and check again, until a chip is found. If there are still no chips found at this point, then the game will instead increase the rarity by 1 and check again until a chip is found.

Finally, the game will choose one of the available codes of that chip at random, except for * code, unless * code is the only code that chip can have. Each code has an equal chance to be chosen.

Legacy Collection

If players are battling in Real mode, and both players having a complete Standard Chip Library (excluding Virus Breeder chips), then there is a 1-in-32 chance that the winner receives the Balance or DeltaRay Giga Chip depending on their game version. This only happens if the winner has not yet received Balance/DeltaRay. When this happens, the loser player does not lose one of their own chips.

It is no longer possible to obtain a random new Standard Chip as a special reward.

NetBattle Fields

There are a total of 4 fields in Lightweight.

There are a total of 32 fields in Midweight.

There are a total of 17 fields in Heavyweight.

Trivia

  • Any region Mega Man Battle Network 3 can link up with each other (eg. Japanese can connect with a North American copy). However, since the English version has received bug fixes, battles are susceptible to be desynchronized on both players’ side.
