== | ==E-Mail Missions== | ||
Certain Navis have a third mailbox where you will periodically receive missions. These are: SearchMan, ProtoMan, NapalmMan and ShadowMan. You can receive one mission per day. | |||
When you start playing as one of these Navis, a timer is started in the background which lasts randomly between 10 and 50 minutes. This timer ticks down in real-time as you play, so using an emulator speed-up feature will not work. Also, the timer is paused while you are in battle, in a tournament, or in most submenus. The timer state will persist across play sessions, but it will be reset if you switch to a different Navi. | |||
Once the timer reaches 0, you will receive the mission mail the next time you're in the PET screen while jacked out. If you're already in the PET screen, you'll receive it immediately. | |||
===ProtoMan's Official Orders=== | |||
ProtoMan will receive orders from the Officials, tasking him with tracking down a criminal in a certain area. Each mission has a time limit that starts when you jack in. Before time is up, ProtoMan must reach the area and locate the suspect based on their characteristics described in the mail. Talking with the suspect will start a battle. | |||
When choosing a mission, the game will choose from a set of 8 missions based on ProtoMan's current maximum HP. If none of the unlock requirements in the set have been met, the game will choose from a lower HP set. Additionally, the game will never pick the same mission twice in a row. Once ProtoMan has reached his maximum HP, then the game will instead choose a random mission from any of the 32 possible missions that have been unlocked. | |||
Upon clearing a mission, ProtoMan will receive an HP Memory if he has not reached his maximum HP yet. Otherwise, he will receive Zennys or BugFrags. | |||

===SearchMan's Missions=== | |||
SearchMan will receive an E-Mail from the Sharo Army, telling him to go to a certain area to perform some task. When you arrive at the destination area, SearchMan will prompt you to start the mission. If you cancel, you will get the option again after exiting and re-entering the area. However, if you fail the mission, you will not be able to try again. There is no time limit for reaching the mission area. | |||
For later missions, requirements need to be met in order to unlock them. The game will choose the first mission available to you which you have not completed yet. Otherwise, a random mission you've already completed will be chosen. Once you've completed all 20 missions, the game will always choose from missions #16 to #20. | |||
The first time you clear a mission, SearchMan will receive an HP Memory (if he has not reached his maximum HP yet), otherwise he will receives Zennys or BugFrags. | |||
Some missions have targets using Invisible to hide themselves. These invisible targets can only be seen using SearchMode. Not all missions have you delete viruses or HeelNavis; some missions require you to find disguised or infected Navis that are behaving suspiciously. | |||

===NapalmMan's Wrecking Jobs=== | |||
NapalmMan will receive an E-Mail from the DarkGuild, telling him to go to a certain area to clean up viruses or Navis from a rival gang. When you arrive at the destination area, NapalmMan will prompt you to start the mission. | |||
Once you've completed all 15 missions, the game will always choose from missions #11 to #15. | |||
The first time you clear a mission, NapalmMan will receive an HP Memory (if he has not reached his maximum HP yet), otherwise he will receives Zennys or BugFrags. | |||
Some targets may be shielding and cannot be destroyed by normal shots. These targets can be taken out by waiting until they're no longer shielding or by using the NapalmBomb. | |||
Hitting any civilian Navis will cause you to lose 5 seconds of time. | |||
With missions that have many targets, some targets may not appear from the start of the minigame. Rather, they may only spawn once some of the other targets have been cleared out. | |||

ShadowMan will receive assassination requests from his Boss, tasking him with eliminating a target in a certain area. Each mission has a time limit that starts when you jack in. Before time is up, ShadowMan must reach the area and locate the target based on their characteristics described in the mail. Talking with the target will start a battle. | |||
When choosing a request, the game will choose from a set of 8 requests based on ShadowMan's current maximum HP. If none of the unlock requirements in the set have been met, the game will choose from a lower HP set. Additionally, the game will never pick the same request twice in a row. Once ShadowMan has reached his maximum HP, then the game will instead choose a random request from any of the 32 possible requests that have been unlocked. | |||
Upon clearing a request, ShadowMan will receive an HP Memory if he has not reached his maximum HP yet. Otherwise, he will receive Zennys or BugFrags. | |||

During the minigame, the tornado has 2 hidden stats: a level and a gust counter, both starting at 0. Each time you press the B Button with the correct timing, the gust counter increases by 1. If the gust counter reaches 5, then the gust counter is reset to 0 and the tornado's level increases by 1. However, if you mistime the B Button press twice in a row, the tornado's level decreases by 1 (the gust counter does not change). If you do not press the B Button at all, both the tornado's level and gust counter do not change. Once the tornado has reached the required level to clear the minigame, it will flash red. | |||

In Rockman EXE 4.5, you will encounter many tasks and minigames. Unlike the normal Battle Network games, HP Memories cannot be found in Mystery Datas, so these tasks and minigames are used to increase the maximum HP of your Navis.
Net Area Gates
There are also barriers in the overworld that hide goodies behind the obstacle. Specific Navis can remove these barriers:

StarMan's Astrology
StarMan will give daily fortunes which cause a Star Data to appear somewhere on the net. StarMan will give a hint of the area it could be in. Other effects and chances of each fortune are listed below:
Type of Data | Chance | Effect |
---|---|---|
Shining Star | 1/64 (1.56%) | x2 Zennys from battle |
Red Comet | 5/64 (7.81%) | None |
4th Magnitude Star | 5/64 (7.81%) | None |

3rd Magnitude Star | 5/64 (7.81%) | None |
Twinkle Star | 5/64 (7.81%) | None |
Umeboshi | 5/64 (7.81%) | None |
Note: "Umeboshi" is used as a pun on "hoshi", meaning "star" in Japanese, which can also be read as "boshi" (e.g. "twinkle star" is "kiraboshi"). Umeboshi, however, is something completely unrelated to stars, so the joke is that you're likely to make a mistake that day.
E-Mail Missions
ProtoMan's Official Orders

SearchMan's Missions

NapalmMan's Wrecking Jobs
NapalmMan will receive an E-Mail from the DarkGuild, telling him to go to a certain area to clean up viruses or Navis from a rival gang. When you arrive at the destination area, NapalmMan will prompt you to start the mission.

ShadowMan's Assassination Requests

Minigames
Minigame Items
Only specific Navis can find these minigames within green Mystery Datas in Internet 2 and later areas. They can played by jacking out, then going in the Key Items menu and using them. Successfully beating the minigame will give you an HP Memory, Zennys or BugFrags.
- The math in Calculation Drill will differ depending on the age inputted for the player.
Item | Minigame | Navis that can find it |
---|---|---|
Calculation Drill | Calculation Minigame | MegaMan, Roll, ProtoMan, NumberMan, StarMan |
Letter of Ice | IceCube Minigame | MegaMan, Roll, ProtoMan, StarMan, IceMan |
Sniper Training | SearchMan Minigame | MegaMan, SearchMan, ShadowMan, NapalmMan |
Daily Minigames
Certain Navis will prompt you to play their minigame when you try to jack into the Net. This can be done once per day and only if they have not reached their maximum HP yet. Beating the minigame grants an HP Memory.
Minigame | Navi that can do it |

WindMan's Dance of the Wind God
To increase WindMan's maximum HP, he must use his power of wind to send Mr. Progs to their destination. The Mr. Prog can be recognized from the fact that he will be jumping up and down. If WindMan helps the Mr. Prog, he will receive an HP Memory if he has not helped that Mr. Prog before and he has not reached his maximum HP yet. Otherwise, he will receive Zennys or BugFrags.
There are 19 different Mr. Progs and WindMan needs 18 HP Memories to reach his maximum HP. When the player starts the game on a new day, the game will randomly spawn a Mr. Prog in any of the locations that are available to the player. However, priority will be given to Mr. Progs that WindMan has not helped yet. Once all Mr. Progs have been helped, the game will always choose from locations #13 to #17.
- Due to a glitch, it's possible to permanently miss HP Memories for WindMan if the player is using multiple Navis at once - see the Glitches page for more information.
