Style Change is the main transformation system of Mega Man Battle Network 2. MegaMan will receive his first Style Change in Chapter 4, during ShadowMan's stage. Up to 2 Styles can be stored at a time.

Elements

There are 4 possible elements for a Style to have. The Style's element determines MegaMan's new Power Attack. There is also 1 special BattleChip that MegaMan can use if he's a specific element.

Heat

  • Weakness: Aqua
  • MegaMan can walk over Lava panels.
  • Can use BigRedWave.
  • Power Attack: Flamethrower.

  • Power Attack: Bubbler.

Style Types

There are 4 different types for a Style to have.

Guts Style

  • 1 pt: Use the MegaBuster normal shot. (Maximum: 255 pt)

  • 10 pt: Use NormalStyle MegaMan's ChargeShot. (Maximum: 255 pt)

Abilities
  • Buster Attack Level is x2, up to 10. Rapid is always set to 1.
  • MegaMan does not flinch aback.
Custom Style
Requirement
  • 5 pt: Send Chip Data of 2 chips in one turn.
  • 25 pt: Send Chip Data of 3 chips in one turn.
  • 50 pt: Send Chip Data of 4 chips in one turn.
  • 60 pt: Send Chip Data of 5 chips in one turn.
  • 20 pt: Use a Program Advance.
  • 30 pt: Use ADD function. Number of chips selected is not counted.
Abilities
  • Start the battle with 7 slots in the Custom Screen.
Team Style
Requirement
  • 50 pt: Send Chip Data of 1-2 Navi Chips in one turn.
  • 50pt x (NaviChips-2): Send Chip Data of 3 or more Navi Chips in one turn.
Abilities
  • Up to 8 Navi Chips can be put in your folders.
Shield Style
Requirement
  • 45pt x (# of chips chosen): Send Chip Data of the following chip types in one turn.
    • Defense-type: CrsShld1, CrsShld2, CrsShld3, Guard, PanlOut1, PanlOut3, Invis1, Invis2, Invis3, DropDown, PopUp, StoneBod, Shadow1, Shadow2, Shadow3

  • 5pt: Don't flinch aback in battle.
Abilities
  • Start battles with a Barrier.
  • B+Left: Shield.

Non-Elemental Styles

These special styles do not have any elemental weaknesses and are not obtained like the above styles.

Normal Style
Requirement None. MegaMan's initial form.
Abilities
  • Can use FighterSword, KnightSword, HeroSword.
Hub Style
Requirement All V3 Navis except Bass must be defeated (to confirm, talk to the girl behind the trees in ACDC Town). Once completed, MegaMan's next Style Change will be Hub Style. You can only obtain Hub Style once.
  • Hub Style is tradeable.
Abilities MegaMan's HP is halved and gains the following abilities:
  • Buster Attack Level is x2, up to 10. Rapid is always set to 1.
  • MegaMan does not flinch aback.
  • Start the battle with 10 slots in the Custom Screen.
  • Up to 8 Navi Chips can be put in your folders.
  • Start battles with a Barrier.
  • B+Left: Shield.

Trading

You can trade Styles in the Network menu. If you trade the same Style to each other, MegaMan will comment on it.
