This page is a list of glitches that appear in Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection and are not in their original Nintendo DS game counterparts.
General Collection glitches
Missing Download Card quirk
In SF1 and SF2, this Download Card button will sometimes not appear if you are in the middle of editing your Folder. In order for the button to appear, you must have a valid Folder with 30 cards and all favorites set. If you’re having trouble entering this menu, try exiting and re-opening the Card Box, and the button should appear.
Incorrect Track Listing
Some tracks are incorrectly labeled:
- SF2: Network and Wave Square are swapped.
- SF3: Wave Battle and Ride On names are swapped compared to how the other games did it… but this was how they were named in the Shooting Star Rockman Sound Box, so it’s not incorrect.
Mega Man Star Force 1
Missing New Records Icon error
When getting a new record vs an SP boss, the NEW icon that should appear does not.
Missing Blue Truck Comp Paths error
After stopping the Control Panel, the previous bull path will remain red even though the path has been fixed. In the DS version, the bull path would turn blue, signaling it’s been fixed.
Unanimated Scrapyard Platform error
On the Scrapyard EM-Road, the green platforms aren’t animated.
Unanimated Fokx error
The Fokx virus’s idle is not animated.
Mega Man Star Force 2
No Message Apollo Flame DX error
After Apollo Flame DX, there is no message from Legendary Master Shin on how many bosses are left or if you get the DX Wallpaper. However, beating him will still count to the DX boss counter and will continue to count down when you beat the next DX boss. This is due to the DX message check being off by 1, so it skips Apollo Flame.
This means if you beat Apollo Flame DX last for your DX boss count, you won’t get the DX Wallpaper immediately. You must fight another DX boss afterwards to get a message for the DX Wallpaper.
Weakness Marker error
When Puff and MonoSword viruses are hit with the weakness that’s supposed to instantly delete them, it shows the standard yellow “!!” weakness marker instead of the unique red marker like in the DS version.
Unanimated Plesio NPC error
The Plesio NPC sprite in Messie’s Cove is not animated.
Mega Man Star Force 3
Noise Wave won’t open error
In the English language setting: Some Noise Waves that require game progress to unlock will not open, even after meeting its progress requirement. This is due to a typo in the English code, checking between 0x40 and 0x6 instead of the correct 0x40 and 0x6F.
As a workaround, the language must be set to either Japanese or Chinese languages to open the Noise Wave, then switch the setting back to English.
Item Subtracting error
In the English language setting: When a field screen interaction requires you to give up an item or pay money for another item, you will get that item and what you were supposed to give up is added to your inventory instead. This is how it applies according to the items:
- Give away a Key Item: You will progress the event and add another of that Key Item in your inventory (in other words, you don’t lose the Key Item since inventory for most Key Items don’t stacks).
- Pay money outside of a shop: Money is added to your balance instead.
- Give away a Battle Card: You will progress the event and another copy of that card is added in your inventory instead.
- Using an Unlocker (must have 1 Unlocker in your inventory first): You get the PMW item and another Unlocker is added in your inventory instead.
Paper Airplane Textbox error
In the English language setting for the paper airplane quest: The textbox that contains “Look” and “Don’t Look” has the words positioned slightly higher than it should be. This is due to a game script typo in the code.
Team Icon lock
If you have 6 Brothers that are on the same Team as you: When you press on the Team icon on the bottom screen, the game won’t pull up the menu properly and will softlock the game.
Zappster Wrong Color error
Zappster, the V2 color of Zapper, is colored yellow instead of its blue as seen in the FlashStrike 2 Battle Card it drops. In the LC, Zapper and Zappster are both yellow.
