These are the bosses in Mega Man Star Force 3.

V2 Encounters

V2 bosses can be found after defeating the boss in the story, these will appear invisible in a set location on an EM wave road. They can no longer be fought if the V2 was defeated in the Meteor Server during the story (Ch. 7).

V3 Encounters

V3 bosses can appear during Chapter 4 (after Queen Virgo) and later as a random WARNING encounter. Each area has a 1/18 chance of encountering the fight, or 1/10 with Cloaker active.

Ω Encounters

Omega bosses can appear during Chapter 2 (after Spade Magnes) and later as a random WARNING encounter. Multiple Ω bosses can be encountered in one map. If Mega Man loses an Omega boss battle, he’ll spawn back on the map with 1 HP instead of a Game Over.

When the field music is playing a special music instead of its usual track, that means an Ω boss can be found. The music will also continue playing into battles. The chance of the Ω music occurring resets upon entering a map on the Wave Road, and only if it is different from last 2 maps. There is 1/64 chance of getting Ω music in a map, then 6/16 chance of encountering the fight. In the Planet FM Astro Waves, there is a 1/32 chance of getting Ω music instead.

  • Small CCs and Noise Waves are excluded from this overview, but are most of the time similar to the encompassing area.

Beating an Omega boss will also give an Omega Piece, which are required to open some doors throughout the game.

R Encounters

R bosses (Rebuilt) will appear in the post-game. Once they are beaten the post-game story, they will appear in the post-game areas as refightable bosses.

RogueZZ (Double Z)[1] (JP) Have the BA/RJ Comp Star, S Comp Star, M Comp Star, G Comp Star, SS Stars and share Purpose Cards with your Team members. Appears in Meteor G Control CC in Orbital Base.


(NA) Due to Purpose Cards being inaccessible in the North American game, the conditions have been modified:
At the title screen, hold L and press: G Comp Star, M Comp Star, M Comp Star, SS Star, G Comp Star, S Comp Star, and BA/RJ Comp Star. Appears in Meteor G Control CC in Orbital Base.

Σ Bosses At the title screen, hold L and press: S Comp Star, G Comp Star, S Comp Star, M Comp Star, SS Star, SS Star, and BA/RJ Comp Star. Afterwards, there is a 1/16 chance of encountering the fight in their respective areas.
  • MoonDestroyerΣ: Noise Wave 3
  • ApolloFlameΣ: Black Hole Server 2
  • SiriusΣ: Orbital Base
  • CrimsonDragonΣ: Appears as an encounter in Outer Astro Waves 1 and 2 after obtaining all 8 Title Screen Marks.
AcidAceBB (Double Black) & DreadJokerRR (Double R)[1] After 20 consecutive Wi-Fi Wave Battles with opponents using “Search”, there is a 1/4 chance one of these bosses will appear during the next search.
QueenVirgoΩ & JackCorvusΩ Appears in Planet FM Astro Waves after obtaining AcidArrest or CrmsnMteor event Battle Cards. The area has 1/32 chance of getting the Ω music instead of the usual 1/64.

Trivia

  • The Wi-Fi Boss Encounter system was filed for a patent by Capcom on November 11, 2008 but its status is stuck on pending.[2]
  • The USA Mega Man Star Force 3 website revealed all Title Screen Mark star inputs, including the NA exclusive one for RogueZZ.
