MMBN5 GBA
Crossover Battle
Crossover Battle is a special game mode where MMBN5 and Boktai 2 can battle each other using the Wireless Adapter (cannot use the Link Cable). This mode does not use the save data from either games, instead, all the equipment will be pre-determined. To enter this mode:
- MMBN5 side: Make sure the Wireless Adapter is attached before entering the Title Screen. At the Title Screen, a new CROSSBATTLE option will appear.
- Boktai 2 side: In the Link menu, enter L R L R L L R R R R L L Select Start Select Start. A new Crossover Battle menu will appear.
Mechanics
Both MegaMan (500 HP) and Django will battle ShadeMan (1000 HP). The winner is the one who beats ShadeMan first, or if the opponent is knocked out by ShadeMan. After the battle, the players will receive Crossover Points depending on how well they did.
This mode has some special battle mechanics:
- Disturb Icon: These icons will send distractions to the opposite player and assist ShadeMan. The icon color decide the effect it gives. Sending multiple icons is possible, even those of the same color, which then will stack up.
- Block: Selecting Block will send all Disturb Icons you would receive this turn back to the opponent.
- Max Mode: A returning feature from Mega Man Battle Network 1. This will occur once a battle goes too long. Instead of Battle Start, "Max Mode!" shows up instead. When MegaMan's BattleChips hit the enemy, they will do double damage.
- Emotion Window: MegaMan cannot enter Angry emotion.
These are the Disturb icons MegaMan can send to Django.

MMBN5 DS
Otenko's Challenge
Since Crossover Battle is not available in the DS version, a new minigame will give Crossover Points. If any Boktai game is in the GBA slot, Otenko's challenge will replace the 100 fighters minigame in End City's Gargoyle Castle. The challenge is hit 1000 bats. How many points you are rewarded depends on the Boktai game inserted, but there is no extra bonus if you successfully hit 1000 bats.
Game Pak | Crossover Points |
---|---|
Boktai 1 | Number of bats hits divided by 30. |
Boktai 2 | Number of bats hits divided by 20. |
Boktai 3 | Number of bats hits divided by 10. |
SolCross MegaMan
SolCross MegaMan is a special form only accessible in the DS version while having:
- (JP) Shin Bokura no Taiyoh Gyakushuu no Sabata (AKA Boktai 3) in the GBA slot.
- (NA)(EU) Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django in the GBA slot.
Crossover Points
In Mega Man Battle Network 5
The Boktai Trader (Zoktai Trader) can be found at Oran Area 2 after making a profile in Crossover Battle. Crossover Points can be traded in for a random BattleChip. The reward pool changes depending on how many points are inserted. Trading in points has a chance to give exclusive GunDelEX G and Otenko O chips.
- In the Legacy Collection, Crossover Points are obtained by doing any Ranked Battles (doesn't have to be Real Thing).
